A Technical Talk on Civil
Engineering Wonders & Challenges was held at TAP cell on 26th
feb 2015 in ATMECE. This discussion was organized by civil department in
association with CEA under the guidance of our beloved principal Dr L Basavaraj
and support & encouragement from Management.
This discussion involved students from 2nd and 3rd
year civil engineering.
The discussion was opened with a welcome note from Srikanth M
R, Asst Prof and HOD Civil department he also introduced the Guest speaker to
the gathering.
Our Hon.
Guest Speaker Prof. Suresh Y R addressed the gathering with respect to Civil engineering
with a well-organized power point presentation. In his address he stated about
various branches of civil engineering, like construction technology, structural
engineering, transportation engineering, hydraulics, water resources,
environmental engineering, and applications of these branches in various parts
of the world.
He also presented the audience with basics of shell structures and
funicular structures and skyscrapers in the world which are existing and which
are under construction. He also gave a hint about bio-mimicry in civil
engineering.Students felt really satisfied after having interaction with Prof. Suresh
Y R, he also summarized the discussion and also addressed the students with a
thought provoking quote.Mr. Shaik Kabeer Ahmed rendered the Vote of thanks.
